Why Won’t The Windows Open in IE ME?

by windy67 . Updated 21 years, 11 months ago

Curiously enough, I am trying to get a dysfunctional
Windows ME based system to function properly.
The browser seems to be disabled because it will
open emails, but not links inside emails that
display a new window inside the page. That means
that unwanted ads still open, but any resource
such as Windows Media Player will not, nor a
web conferencing format. Somehow Sybase found
a way around the problem, as to offer a choice
of conference selections. One such selection
worked- but Microsoft claimed there was an error
that prevented it from playing. I suspect more
Microsoft foul play. But in fact- why the windows
are not opening is a troubling issue. Could
this mean the whole Windows disc needs to be
reloaded, or that there is a system tool that
will fix the problem?
My immediate solution was to use another browser.
Obviously the Windows Media Player will not work
in Netscape 7.1. Has anyone ever had the problem
with IE that disabled them from opening links
inside of the open web page? Have other people
had this problem as well?
