Why Xperia X10i did factory default setting after firmware upgrade?

by vineet.sheoran . Updated 14 years, 8 months ago

All,

I was prompted for a firmware upgrade on Sony Ericsson Xperia X10i which I dutifully okayed. The upgrade went fine however as a result of it I lost EVERYTHING (Contacts; Calendar; Downloaded apps/widgets; Notes; Messages (SMS and MMS included); APN settings;). The only thing I did NOT loose were photos and videos (not sure why they would be excluded).

The upgrade effectively did a factory default setting on the phone.

The only things that I can sync from Xperia X10i via Gmail/Facebook/Sony_Eicsson_PC_Companion is contacts and calendar. While sync’ng contacts and calendar is great and quite easy to do how do I sync/backup (and then restore) apps, notes, messages, media files, etc? What tools/system does the community use to sync and perodically backup data from the phone?

Android version – 2.3.3
Build version – 3.0.1.G.0.75 (before upgrade it was 2.x)

Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
