Windows up date for june said there were 19 updates, the down load hung up so i closed it and restarted it. came back up now saying there 15 updates and those were installed succcesfully. Now windows update says when i open it there are no updates, but when i check the update history some of the june updates are not in the history and there is nothing in the hidden updates, is this a problem?

Try...

by cmiller5400 In reply to why?

Step 1: Delete the SoftwareDistribution folder.
> Click Start, type services.msc and then hit enter.
> From the list of services, right click on "Windows Update" service and then click Stop.
> Open the Windows Directory and then delete the SoftwareDistribution folder.
Note: SoftwareDistribution folder is the folder where the updates are downloaded. Once the updates are installed on the computer, the downloaded contents can be removed from the SoftwareDistribution folder or the SoftwareDistribution folder itself can be deleted as this folder will be recreated automatically when we scan for the windows updates once again.
> Once the SoftwareDistribution folder is removed, then start the "Windows Update" service successfully.
> "Windows Update" is the service that enables us to scan for the windows updates successfully. So please make sure to start this service, if it's not started, then we will not be able to scan for the windows updates successfully.
