there is free technical support

by databaseben In reply to Wi-fi problem

the makers of the router usually provide a 1-800 number and free technical assistance for setting it up.

also, your isp also provides free technical help to set up it and your connection too. they usually ask for the model number of the router so that they can pull up the exact steps to set it up.

Please tell me what brand of router you have.
Also, what ISP's do you know of who provide free tech support?

I have had the opposite experience with Cisco, Linksys, and Comcast. I hate Comcast.

First step

Connect your unit through a CAT5 cable first to the router, then you can unplug the cable afterwards and get WIFI but you need to be on a cable first to get control of the router.

That is more than vague. Do you have all the equipment, cables, and an internet provider? If yes, what have you done so far?
