Wide screen stretches images

By acagroup ·
I had to upgrade a square screen Lcd to a wide screen, and the imags are all streched, the user makes catalogs and needs to see images as they would appear in print, I tried changig resolutions and some are better than others, but I could find one that is exact, is there any way to make the new LCD work the same as a Square screen LCD?

I'm assuming you are referring to widescreen vs square. A widescreen uses a different resolution then a standard square LCD screen. Most square screens use the 1280x1024 as a native resolution.

Depending on the size of your widescreen the resolution will vary. There is no standard resolution for widescreens, each screen size will have its own recommended resolution. Widescreens can range from 1680x1050 (for 22inch) to 1920x1080 (for HD widescreens) to 1440x900 for 19 inch LCD, etc..

Also take into consideration what your video card can support not all video cards can support all resolutions. I ran into a few Intel board with onboar video that could not support the highend resolutions.

Also check for drivers for your monitor, the monitor may not be reporting to your computer what resolution it needs.

So in a nutshell, I would start with updating your graphics driver, install the monitor driver, check for compatibilty, will the video card support that resolution.
