WIDE SCSI vis-a-vis ULTRA WIDE SCSI

by abdul_1qaz . Updated 23 years ago

I want to replace my wide scsi with ultra wide scsi without reinstalling NT but after succesfully mirroring from the wide scsi onto the ultra wide scsi, I broke the mirror and attempted to boot but kept getting the error: ” A disk read error occured. Insert a system diskette & restart the system”. Tried another ultra wide scsi and got same error message. However, no problem encountered when same thing was done using a wide scsi drive. Please help With the specifics of why it’s impossible to mirror from wide scsi to ultra wide scsi and start the system with the mirrored ultra wide scsi. Server is HP Netserver LC3(NT4 Spk6a), using hotswap drives. Thanks.
