widnows XP can not connect to internet

I have reformatted and installed winXP home. Since then my modem and wireless adapter are not detected.
New singtel broad band has usb connection but when try to configure the wizad search for TCP/IP protocol and get stuck. I have no way to connect to INternet.
Can anybody Help
