Wifi throuout a 2.5 acre property

    Hello,
We run a small campsite in Nova Scotia. We currently have internet but seems to be temperamental. We have since upgraded to 300mbps for speed which is the max our provider offers. I am going to buy a better router then the current modem/router provided by the provider. Any suggestions? We also have an outside range extender that drops the connection all the time (hard wired) and if it’s not dropping it steals all the speed from the router? What am I doing wrong… this is set up as another router not access point. Would like to offer our campers more reliable wifi any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I know I could go get a professional and have perfect wifi, but we are a start up and don’t have thousands to invest into wifi just yet.

It appears you should forgo or forget getting coverage since there is no budget. I would be guessing your business doesn’t charge for this so there should be NO EXPECTATION of full coverage over 2.5 acres.

      1. Pull back to a few hotspots.
      2. Forget RANGE EXTENDERS.
      3. Deploy WAPs or Wireless Access Points. We can run 100 meters of Ethernet to each hotspot location. WAPs could be routers set as WAPs if you like many have spare routers.
      4. Forget perfect WiFi.
      5. Tell them to move to the WiFi hotspot.
