Wikipedia's 10th birthday parties

Wikipedia has its fans and haters, but it has still managed to make it to 10 years old. Here is a list of places that are having festivities to celebrate, anyone going? I'm going to my local hackerspace (their name for it, guys) to share in the fun!

I'm hoping it will be at least almost as nice as the TR meetups.

Of course, nothing CAN compare, but I can always hope for another crowd of geeks to possibly herd down to TR - both on and offline!

Online and Real life meetings

by klaasvanbe In reply to I said "hoping"

I don't remember ever meeting a fellow Wikipedian in real life unless there were some I don't even know they are Wikipedian since only few of them I know by their given name.

The opposite is more likely. Many know (or could find out) my real name.

Some direct contacts on LinkedIn I met in person, mostly they were coworkers.
