    Will not boot on initial power on,

    End user has an Amptron 599lmr mb that after it is off for approx 10 min it takes two attempte to get the system to boot. The first appempt gets power lights on and supply fan to work but no post, video, system beep….nada…..I have already trieddifferent memory chips as recommended by mb sight.

      Reads as though you have a CPU problem that could have over heated or not working properly and the other cause is that you have a bad motherboard.

      I had a similar situation. The best answer I can give you is that it can be caused by residual voltage in places like the video card or possibly the memory. But since your trouble is usually on a cold boot, I assume if you shut down and right backon it works? The only thig I can think of is the cmos battery charging something or a power supply that doesn’t shut all the way down. Try removing power (unplugging) the power supply and see if it will boot then.

      bad video card. i’ve seen this many times on clone machines.

        The motherboard has intergrated video. I tried another video card…same results. It was worth a try though, didn’t think of that right off.
