will using third party internet security get round the issue?

By rc.rushton ·
I'm using an old laptop with xp s2, as service pack 3 will slow it down too much. Made redundant, so not in the position to replace or upgrade. Have trend installed, will this be enough?

Probably

If it is that old, and you have had it all this time, and it has not been compromised yet, you must be doing something right. Continue doing whatever that is.

The issue? Which issue is that?

You didn't even mention what the issue is!
Will it be enough for what?

Will it be enough to take the UN to the grave? Probably not?
Will it be enough to throw it at your neighbour? Probably, yes.

You are still installing critical updates, though. Yes?

You should be covered then, as far as vulnerabilities.

If you cannot upgrade then?

If you cant upgrade to XP SP3 then my reccomendation is you even un-install Trend and intead go with just spybot or WIndows firewall.
