Will Windows 7 be yet another Vista?

by enfield_john . Updated 16 years, 9 months ago

I’m wondering if Windows 7 will be avoided and ignored as much as Vista has been. I’ve talked to so many people who have uninstalled Vista and installed XP on their new computers that came with Vista. I also know a lot of people who have built their own computers and if they installed Vista at all, it was as a dual boot. I did a dual boot install of Vista with XP on my own home built PC and I have found over the past year and a half that I have been using this PC that I hardly ever use Vista. I only installed it so that I could get familiar with it and be able to help customers who have questions about it. I’m seriously considering leaving it off the hard drive the next time I do a fresh install (which I do to my computers about every two years or so)since all it seems to be doing is taking up space.

Lots of businesses I’ve visited to work on their systems and others I’ve just been a customer of still use XP. Some even still use Windows 98 or Unix on most of their machines. Very few places I’ve gone to even have any PCs running Vista.

What do you guys think? Will Windows 7 get the Vista treatment too or will it be so much better than XP that people will actually upgrade to it?
