win 2000 modem

how can i get win 2000 pro to see a 56k modem as a 56k modem not 33.6

Hello, first what is your kbps rate? If it is more then 40kps, then your connecting with a 56k modem. I if thats the case your ok. I would uninstall it then shut your comp off, then back on. Windows should find it and install it. If it doesnt, you have to manually install it yourself using the disk that came with the modem. Its possible windows is incorreclty showing the wrong modem. Trying the later fix may do it. If you dont have the setup disk, look on the net for the current drivers.

44bps in win98 .in win2000 31.2 bps
as to the modem usr reports win2000 is on there list no driver update avail.reinstalling the modem done that.
