Win 2000 Server won’t install

Trying to install Win 2000 server on new HD. Drive formated, will install any other OS (except 2000 Pro and Server) without problem.

DOS portion of install goes OK, when rebooting to do second half of install, indicates checking hardware and goesblack.

AMD Athlon 900Mhz on ASUS A7V MB

Several others, including experienced tech try but likewise fail. AMD and ASUS claim no known compatability issues.

Any ideas or similar experiences??
