I am running a Network without a domain. 5 workgroups. I have approximately 50 computers with various OS’s: XP, W2K, 98, 95. I have a W2K file server. I recently added a Win 2003 Server for DHCP and additional power. All clients (even 95 and 98 machines) receive IP addresses when they log in. The XP and W2K machines can access any file share on the Win 03 server. The Win98 and Win95 machines receive an “unknown error 31” When they map a drive. If I enable the guest login, they are able to map a drive, but they are not allowed to access the mapped drive: they receive an “access denied” error. I have this problem on more than one network. W2K and XP machines can use the Server for file sharing, but 98 and 95 machines can’t. Don’t say upgrade the OS’s because we are an educational environment and do not have the monetary resources. Any help will be appreciated.
