Win 2k backup/restore

Dear all,
I used the windows 2000 backup utility to perform backups to tapes. The backups ran quit successfully, but now he server has crashed and after re-istalling te OS, I would like to restore my data back. The catalog was lost with the crashing of the server, so is there anyway to restore from tape if the program that created he backup in the first place is not there???
Please hel as have only up till tomorrow to sor this out.
