Win 2K Recovery Console

I am trying to load the recovery console in Win 2k professional from the software CD in Drive E. I use the command E:\i386\winnt32 /cmdcons. When it tries to load I get an error than says cannot load OEM media from source. Finally after several windows it says startup files may be missing from the root directory. This machine runs fine otherwise. I did the same procedure on another “sister machine” and it worked fine. Any Idea what files may be missing or whats wrong. I know you can use theRC from the CD but it takes alot longer
