Win 95/98 clients error

Win95/98 clients are trying to save Word documents on server and receiving “There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection may be lost”. Connected to Novell 5.0SP6a connection with Novell client 3.3. Tried saving to localdrive with no problem on one workstation. Checked file “rights” at DOS. Users have RWCEMF rights to all directories and files. Just started hapening this morning… Nothing new done to server recently except installed new version on Mcafee Netshield4.5 this past weekend. Any help would be appreciated. Checked Novell support but could not find the true answers.
