Win-95 Dual Boot or running under Virtual PC

    Locked

    by cal-01 ·

I am trying to get Win-95 to run on my XP-Pro system. How do I set it up for either Dual Booting or running under Virtual PC? Whenever I load Win-95 I receive this error: Win-95 has finished loading but when I try to access Win-95, I receive: Insufficient memory to load Win-95. I used to have both running on a Pentium III-450 machine but I can’t seem to get it to work with my Pentium 4-3.15 machine. Any thoughts,

    Mike

There could be a problem with 95 and the P4 Hardware

If you try 98SE which has the same functionality as well as supporting USB it may prove better but I think that you’ll find that the system is just too big or fast for 95 to use it accurately. Because things are much bigger than 95 can map like RAM it spits up an error message that there isn’t enough of it available when it actually means that there is so much that the OS can not map it so there can not be any.

the same thing may be happening with the CPU as well because it is faster than 95 can use it is thinking that there isn’t one there.
