win 98 internet connection sharing and i

Two pcs on ethernet network. Both running Windows 98, second edition. Both are p3 500, 128 megs ram, lots of hard drive. One system has a usrobotics sportster isdn adaptor. other system is connected via netcard to 10 base t hub. ISP is earthlink. (they won’t help) How do I configure systems to share the internet connection.

Hi,
you need a capi-sharing (don’t know if this is the right translation from german) tool or a proxy server running on the machine with the modem.
A proxy server will be oversized for you.
Contact the modem manufacurer for capi enhancements. I know the AVM ISDN card and AVM has the right software to share the modem over the lan. There will be more manufacurer producing similar software.

You have to install Internet Connection Sharing in Windows by going to control panel by sellecting:
– add/remove programs
– internet tools
– internet connection sharing
then when computer asks for a floppy disk it makes a exacutable file for auto configuring the other(client) computer. Start that file on the client computer and make sure that you have tcp/ip protocol installed.
Another thing that you have to do is to check under internet properties in control panel on the server computer -Always dial my internet connection-
