On a win 98 standalone PC with userprofiles enabled, should each user be able to keep their own screensavers? I find that they don't - each user gets the screensaver set by the previous user. They can each set their own desktop backgrounds, which isodd as they are both set in the same window.

Although this doesn't answer your question, I would highly recommend discontinuing the use of screen savers. There are a lot of programs that are effected by the use of screen savers. I have had numerous calls from clients with screen savers activated, that were resolved buy turning them off. Yes, I am one of those on the bandwagon of those that hate screen savers. When done for the day, turn your monitor off!!! Monitors today do not burn in, during normal use. ****, I see people with laptops using screen savers, go figure!!! Not an answer, but a suggestion, hope you join in....
No,they will not be able to keep their own screensaver settings,on a Win98 based computer with two or more user profiles, the screen saver is changed during a session in one user profile, that user profile overwrites the previous screen saver selection in another user profile. Microsoft has acknowledge this as a problem, yet have not provided a fix.
