Win 98 shutdown problem

I have win 98 se original version. Every time I shutdown the computer it gives the following massege :
An exception 0E has occured at 0028:c000d1d in VxD VMM(01) + 0000A1D. This was called from 0028:c02AZA47 in VxD VWIN32(05) + 0000156f. It may bepossible to continue normally.

Even if I select proper shutdown option it doesn’t get complete.

What might be the problem. ???
