Win 98 shutdown problem

By techadmin ·
I have win 98 se original version. Every time I shutdown the computer it gives the following massege :
An exception 0E has occured at 0028:c000d1d in VxD VMM(01) + 0000A1D. This was called from 0028:c02AZA47 in VxD VWIN32(05) + 0000156f. It may bepossible to continue normally.

* Press any key to attempt to continue
* Press CTRL+ALT+DEL to restart your computer. You will lose any unsaved informartion in all applications

Press any key to continue.
Even if I select proper shutdown option it doesn't get complete.

What might be the problem. ???

You can create two shortcuts and use them to shutdown Windows 98 SE.
First command line:
start rundll user.exe,exitwindows
For second shortcut ( case sensitive)
rundll32.exe shell32.dll,SHExitWindowsEx 5
About second shortcut read MS article Q234216

Good luck

Windows SE has a lot of version. I think yours are the first version. Check on your Windows directory whether it contains file (something like) FIX.EXE (or .COM).

Try to get the final version instead as the first version is quite unstable.
