Win Explorer-click folder opens search.

By morley.rob ·
All of a sudden, when I click a folder in win explorer in XP I get a search window instead of the contents of the folder. I have searched and searched and can't find the answer.

Turn off system-restore "Control Panel, System", Download a adware-finding tool, like "Spybot Search & Destroy" (google for it on the inet). Install spybot, then start it and download the updates for this program. Now run a system check with it and get it to remove all malware on your PC. After a reboot repeat the check, until you've caught everything. Test your explorer again. If it is OK, you can enable system restore again.

I'm having the same problem, I tried the registry entry but nothing happened. I hope I didn't screw things up more than they already are.
