Win Explorer defaults to C:

By default Win explorer starts with the C: drive expanded. Can this be changed so that C: is not expanded?
Thanks for any help.

What I have done is create a shortcut to explorer.exe. In the properties for the shortcut enter the following into the target field;

C:\WINNT\EXPLORER.EXE /n, /e, /select, C:
This will open explorer at the root of the C: drive.

you can also change the start point by right clicking the start menu shortcut for explorer in the advanced section of taskbar settings.

Bingo - that /select switch did the trick - I have always wondered how to do this. Thanks for posting and now - where do you find these answers - in the MS resource book?
