Win ME and BSOD

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 series running Windows ME. 128MB Ram, 60GB HD and 8x DVD-ROM as well as 12x CD-RW.

Lately, i go in to use it and I see the blue screen with the following message:

Unable to write to disk on Drive C
Files or data may be lost.

I reboot the system and run Scandisk but nothing shows up. Both Windows Temp and Temporary Internet Files are emptied on system startup, ignoring necessary files contained in those directories.
