I am trying to upgrade From an Athlon 550 to a 800 cpu. I have upgraded my ami bios on my Microstar 6195 K7 Pro MB. I am running with 128 megs or ram. I can load win Me and arrive at the desktop but when I try to start any program it locks. Also I cannot do a restart thru windows my monitor just goes into the sleep mode. When I reinstall the 550 the computer works fine.
Could this be the video card (3dfx 3 3000 agp? Win Me (I have increased the stack to 9,256) in config.sys or a problem with the cpu itself?
