is it possible to install winnt with one 10 mbps ethernet card and after installation and network configuration remove the 10 mbps card and put another 10/100 mbps card of different chipset

Yes. Under Network Properties, select the Adapter tab. Remove the adapter. Shut down NT. Install your new adapter. Start NT and install the drivers for you new adapter. Go to Network Properties, select the Protocols tab. Highlight TCP/IP, and select Properties. Highlight the new nic and configure the TCP/IP properties of the new NIC (you can give it all the same settings as the previous NIC).

I am assuming that you are downloading Windows NT over a network, but for what reason are you changing the nic after the fact?
