Hey All:
I am having a strange problem with Windows NT 4 workstation network settings. I am working with a Compaq Deskpro which has a built in quite crappy network card, but that is another story. I have recently added a 3com 905-TX NIC, and now the on-board card is out of the picture, no worries.
However, I am now having problems with even looking at ‘Adapters’ under network properties. Every time I click on the ‘Adapters’ TAB, I get the error message: “An error has occured while windows was working with the control panel file C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\NCPA.CPL”. I know that the ncpa.cpl file is the basic control panel file for Networking settings under Win NT. I don’t know why I am getting this message. I would like to wipe all networking components and settings and start from scratch…but how? I do not want to re-install Win NT (Last Option). Any Suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
