win nt setup

By durb ·
I'm running 98 and want to install NT on another HD. It's a temporary NT version, so I have no install disks.

Q: Is there a way to create the disks from my computer with data from the internet, if so, where can I get it?

Proposed Answer 1: Rejected

hi, I don't know about any web-based places to download nt disks, but if you have the cd you can create them off that. While in 98, go to the run command and type in :
winnt /ox
This will create only the 3 floppies in reverse order- 3 then 2 then 1.

Someone else suggested this; I can't find the winnt or winnt32 application. I've searched the entire 98 cd.

Okay, let me expand on my previous answer. Since you said "temp. nt version" I assumed you had an nt cd-rom. Now if that is not the case, you need the NT Cd-rom (workstation or server). You cannot download this off the web. You could get an evaluation copy of NT (either wkstn or server) by ordering it from the link on Search under "free stuff." There is nothing in 98cd to do with NT - entirely different operating systems. If you have the cd, you can create floppies, but NT needs both for loading on a stand alone machine. Hope this helps.
