win nt shutdown problem

i am running win nt 4 with sp6a on a laptop.... the problem im having is... when i try to shut down the computer, it would go thru the shutdown, but instead of turning off the computer or saying that my computer is ready to restart... it automatcally reboots... what is wrong?

Methinks it a SP thing - it is similar to a Win2k SP2 box Ive got

What kind of laptop is it? This was a known problem with certain laptops that ran NT, and there are fixes from the manufacturer.
