Win XP and Win200 Server Dual boot

By Abbasi ·
I had winxp on partition C of my computer. I later installed win 2000 server on partition D. Problem is that i tried to reboot winxp and i got blue screen Bad_System_config_info error. It says some hardware or software installed correctly.
Windows 2000 server booting OK.
Wondering what i did wrong ?

Well, Windows places several system files in the root folder of the Primary Master (C:) drive.

When you installed Windows 2000 the installer replaced the files on the C drive with the Windows 2000 version.

The recommended procedure for setting up a multi-boot Windows system is to install the oldest version of Windows first.

You should be able to re-install XP onto the C: drive. The installer should find the W2K files and ask if you want to set up a dual boot system.

Another option, is to use a boot manager.
