After replacing one of the two SATA hard drives of a RAID 1 and
successfully setting it up to be the ‘mirror’ of the existing ‘source’ drive,
Windows XP pro will not boot up from the array. However, if I revert the
drives back to non-RAID, Windows will boot up from the original ‘source’
drive, but not from the ‘mirror’ drive. From the file manager, the new
‘mirror’ drive appears to have exactly the same data as the ‘source’.
Running chkdsk doesn’t solve the problem. Can anyone suggest a
course of action?
