Win XP freezes during startup
I have Win XP Pro with Intel Pentium 3, 500 Mz, 256 MB RAM, with FAT32 file system.
During Win XP startup, it starts normally, but after displaying the desktop with all the icons, it freezes for 4 to 5 minutes. During that time it does nothing. No HDD activity or anything visible. During that time I cannot click Start button or start any program. I cannot do Ctrl-Alt-Del to see the performance. After the freezing time is over, then the performance returns to normal.
Then during the normal working, it randomly freezes for no apparent reason for 4 to 5 minutes. I cannot do any work during that time. Once that freezing time is over then it returns to normal.
I have tried to disable certain services, but it dosent solve the problem. I have done registry cleanup and defrag.
Appreciate your help in solving this problem.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Neil
