Win XP Language problem

By dilumd ·
Hi friends. One of my friend ask me to change the language of his Newly received Acer notebook.

I think current language is France. I try to change this to English language using Regional and Language options. But the problem was, in the language list there is no option for English language.

Please help me.

You probably need the language packs installed.

Either fom MS or from the install disk.

It is possible that the install is regionalized in a way that cannot be changed, but I'm not sure how likely that would be.

Buy a new copy

If you're in the US and received a European machine, you may want to spend a few bucks and install a new English-US version of XP. The non-US versions have peculiarities because of export restrictions and EU requirements, which can crop up at awkward times.

Yes, it's a hassle, but if you're in the US, in the long run you'll be happier with an ENU version of XP instead of trying to change the FR version to run ENU.
