WIN XP printer sharing

by prabacom2004 . Updated 14 years, 9 months ago

We have USB printer shared for more than 10 users in win XP pro. Sometimes few users can’t print with error “Printer not ready” even print is idle .I issued “net session” command in the printer connected PC and saw a list of idle session.
When I use “net session /delete /y “, that previous user print without any issue.

I set “Net Config Server /AUTODISCONNECT: 1” but the “net session” still show idle sessions and do not disconnect them.

since we are running AD environment users don’t have permission to run “net session /delete /y” .

We don’t have 10 users printing at the same time.
I know we can not share more than 10 users in XP pro. Is it concurrent users or
10 connections ?

Is there a way to disconnect idle printer session still allow the to print when ever they need ?

Please Help
