how long has it been installed on your system? the slow time for the my computer is due to the looking at the cd-rom drives. Try taking all cd's out of your cd-rom's and refresh it,close it, and open it up again. As for the send-to, try running adefrag or scandisk, or if you have alot of items in your taskbar close them, or disable the items that do not benefit your computer.
It's been installed on my computer for a few months now. I don't usually have any CD's in the drive and I don't like to have much on my taskbar. Last time I did a defrag was about a week ago. I don't have many programs installed on there either. As far as I know I havn't changed anything for a while.
Another thing you should do regularly, is look for your Temporary Internet Files folder and clear it out completely. Also *.tmp and ~*.* files should be deleted. Then run a defrag and you should have a considerable speedup if you have not donethese things before.
I limit my Temp Internet Files to 50Mb and after I installed everything I cleared out all the temporary files and the Temp folder and that rarely gets above 20Mb now.
I figured out what it was. I had My Documents set for a network drive and when the Send To menu was being opened it was trying to validate a shortcut which didn't exist. So I changed My Documents properties and all is good.

Win XP - Slow 'Send To' Menu
It wasn't like this when I first installed it, it's only happened recently and it gets really annoying.
Same thing happens when I open up My Computer. I comes up with the little animated flashlight for a while before it show my drives.
Any ideas?
