Win xp won’t start…

Hey, yesterday my desktop just stoped working…

I had turned on the computer an hour before it happened and everything seamed to work then, but when I restarted XP pro. my system some how crahched! When I first started the screen didn’t react so I turned off and turned on the power again then it started off as normal until when the “windows flag” is suppose to come up! Instead of the flag a weird message or something looking like ms-dos came up on which it said Windows 98!

This makes me sick… Please help me out with this one. It’s something totaly new for me!
