Win2000 + winsock proxy client

By xxx ·
Since NT 4 Sp6a + IE 5.01 I haven't been able to make the winsock proxy client work, this also aplies to Windows 2000 Pro.
Unless you start playing with service dependencies and service loading order.
?does anyone one know a simpler way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

John,
I know exactly how you feel. If you are running Proxy Server install the latest SP. Then uninstall and reinstall proxy client. Run chkwsp32n to see if the client and server match. I also know that winsock is dependent on NTLMSSp so set NTLM to automatic in services. This should do it for you but if you need further help you can email me at eddiearnold@objecttek.com.
