Win2000 Pro Boot.ini

By hersheyboy ·
I had my win 2000 loader menu set up for OS on different partitions. I have added another hard drive to my system and wish to change the loading menu choices back to the default of just win 2000 or the recovery console. I have edited Boot.ini and placed it in the root directory but it still come up with the old loading menu. How can I default this without reinstalling Win 2000 ?

You have to make sure you edit the boot.ini file on the 'first' hard drive, usually you C drive. That's where win2k boots from (by default).

I just noticed you mentioned that you placed it in the root directory.

It should be placed in the root of C Drive along with NTDETECT and NTLDR.
