Win2000Server Crash on boot

by pricepd . Updated 25 years, 1 month ago

My primary domain controller is a WIN2000 server. Every time I try to re-boot, before i get a login screen I get a memory dump. The error says that the hive file \\systemroot\system32\config\software is corrupt or not writeable. I have run the emergency repair disk on the system but this does not fix the problem. I back up the registry every night, however this is the machine that the backup software is on.

Is there a way to get this file off backup and resolve this problem? If not, is there a way fix the corrupt file?

Thanks in advance for you help.

Preston
