Win2k and Sqlserver

By sqltom ·
Hi, we are migrating from NT4 domains to Win2k AD. We are having issues with AD accounts being able to login to SQL Server after user has been migrated from NT to 2K. We are migrating sID-History via NetIQ DMA, and both domains trust each other. Does anyone have any clue?

Win2k and Sqlserver

Hello,

if you use an NT-Account for logging in to a SQL-Server you also have to change the domain-name for that user or group.
So if the users now log in to the w2k-domain the workstation tries to login with w2k-domain\user-name and not as nt4-domain\user-name. SQL-Server users afaik the user-name and not the sid for authentification.

So check the user-names in SQL-Server!
