Win2k and Veritas Backup Exec 8.6

This is probably an easy one. However, I do appreciate any help. Dell sends no documentation on Backup Exec. Certain files are greyed-out in the BACKUP SELECTION screen. More importantly, the share that holds my User Profiles is greyed. You cannot select it. At present, the PROFILES share is default-Everyone Full Control. Each member profile is Username-FC, Admins-FC, System-FC(full control). What might I be doing wrong? What are the rules/best practices? Thanks again! PS- I am usingthe Remote NT/2000 Agent.
