question regarding Win2k server and WINS resolution. We currently have a mixed environment of Win2k and WinNT 4.0 servers. If a Win2k server is registered in both a WINS database and DNS database running off a WinNT 4.0 server, name resolution occurs from DNS and not WINS. It seems that I can only resolve the Win2k server name through WINS if I take out the DNS record in the DNS database. If the entry exists in DNS you cannot see the server through network neighborhood, etc… Is there a way to have entries in both WINS and DNS but have the Win2k server resolved through WINS and for it to be seen in network neighborhood?
