Win2K Backup

by jodyc . Updated 25 years, 2 months ago

I’m having problems with NTBACKUP under Win2k. I have batch files I have used for years that work great under NT4 for scheduling backups. I was able to change them to support the new NT Backup (can someone tell me why they dropped the eject command!?) but It seems to not be creating log files and also when I go into the GUI under the restore tab to look at the tape, it isn’t cataloged. Having troubles making it catalog as well. I am able to get it to finally load and prove that the tape did runor perhaps I’m being fooled? The problem is steming from the new removable media manager (RSM). Can anyone explain to me how this drarn thing works? Can’t seem to find any docs on it that are any good. I’m following Q article Q239892 the unmanaged method using the /P ” 4mm DAT” /UM switch. I also have a description swith that says Complete System Backup. It’s a Sony DAT drive.

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.
