Is there any way to allow a standard workgroup user to defrag without giving them local admin privileges. I am in a Novell world without ZEN or AD. Local Policies do not list as an option??
Thanks,
J

I have never tried this option, but there is a dos command "runas". Maybe if you look up the command line switches for it, as there is also a dos command defrag too. That way a non-admin user can run a batch file that defrags their workstation, or the batch file could be placed in their scheduled tasks.
We used Diskeeper Lite when we had 98 & 2000 computers. It's free download and perhaps yopu could give them permissions on the App?? Just a thought. Don't you just love the way things don't work without local admin?
Thanks, but I can't see adding additional software. Also I suspect regardless of the software the fact that it performs disk maintenance would still require admin privs... perhaps not
