Win2k DNS Problem

By rdelvecchio ·
Does anybody know why Windows 2000 Professional will not use it's DNS settings. I have tried with a static address and with a leased address. It will look to the DNS once than aafter that it will go to the internet and do a search! Any Ideas?

Win2k DNS Problem

by jblanco In reply to Win2k DNS Problem

I 've been working with win2kpro for almost 6 months and never had this kind of problem. Is TCP/Ip your only protocol or you have others? Is your DNS server Windows, Unix, or 3rd party. We assign dns, wins values through our DHCP server. Is your gateway(router) on the same subnet as your DNS server?
