Win2k: Network connections disappears

By ole.thy ·
I'm running Win2k pro on a laptop and the icons in Network and Dial-up Connections has disappeared. The only one left are the "Add a New Connection". The network are running without any problems except when I want to change properties I don't know wher to do it.

Win2k: Network connections disappears

you should be able to double click the network connection in the system tray to get to the properties. Are you logged in as administrator on the laptop? If not, there might be a system policy established that won't allow users other than the adminto access the network connection control panel.

Hope this helps.

If you have a pcmcia card with modem+nic, the problem may be that the system is unable to detect properly the pcmcia card.
With the machine working, remove the pcmcia card, wait for a minute and re-plug it again.
It should be detected.
If not, goto the mamufacturer's web site and search for a new set of drivers.
