Win2K, passwords and Macs

By dghaus ·
Help! Ideas? I have a win2k server in a mixed
pc and mac environment. When I create a
user account I make the user change their
password at next logon, no problem with the
PCs and although the macs come up with
"you must change your password", they won't
make the change. Anyone seen this before?

Changing domain passwords thru Macs

by ltheodoru In reply to Win2K, passwords and Macs

Depending on whether you are using Appletalk or IP, you can use either Chooser or Network Browser to connect to the server, then click on the Change Password button which appears on the bottom left of the Connect screen. It is not nearly as user-friendly as Windows and does make it hard for us to force users to change their passwords. I also understand that there is a program called David which will allow Macs to behave as Windows machines on NT domains, but this is a school system and we willprobably never be able to buy extra software.

We have 2-3 mac users in our environment.
We use Exchange 5.5 as our email system.
The Mac people change their network passwords
by using Outlook Web Access. They logon
to the website to check email and can change
their passwords from there.
