Win2K Pro conn. limit by ?

By Cazen ·
I know Win2K pro has a 10 connection limit; What level is this on? For instance - I know you can't have 10 clients map a drive letter to a share - that would be a persistent connection, but what about running application server software that managesconnections. I specifically want to run PDMworks Vault software (by SolidWorks) on a Win2K pro machine but don't know if it will work for sure. This same scenario seems similar to running a web server on a Win client OS; which I have done. Abyss webserver on a Win98se box for an intranet calendar server. That works fine. (or maybe 10 people never hit it simultaneously?).
Any specific experience (with PDMworks) and direction appreciated.

When I read the below:
http://www.solidworks.com/swexpress/july02/200206_fullnewsletterp.html

I get the impression that what you want to be able to do is possible with your configuration. When you get to about 1/3 of the way down in this page, there's a section on hardware requirements. The section below that concerns Customization or the settings that will be shared across many or all users within an organization.

How many active users within a single file/document do you forsee?
