Win2K Pro Shutdown

I have a dual boot system (Win2K Pro and WinME). I have downloaded all the patches for Win2K Pro up to SP2, but I am having a problem shutting down. When I go to shut down or restart Win2K Pro, the computer does not respond accordingly. It will place itself into a “sleep mode” state, however, I cannot move the mouse or press a key to start the OS again or cannot press Alt/Ctrl/Del, I have to press the restart button on the computer. This is only happening with Win2K, WinME is working just fine
